Your Airport Transportation Options

These modern times have given many people a new set of options when it comes to getting to the airport and moving around town. In large metropolises the amount of people using cabs instead of owning cars is quite numerous. This is illustrated all the time in a variety of different ways, which is why it’s important to move forward with what works best. Let’s say that you’re going to need a ride to the airport, consider the following traditional routes and see why it’s far better to use a taxi instead:

  • Bus – You can wait at the corner of a street for a bus to come around. However, they don’t care about your time frame of getting anywhere. The buses in major cities have a set schedule and they pick up several passengers, sometimes to over filling. These passengers and yourself wait through many stops before landing on your destination. Even with good intentions, it could take upwards of an hour or 2 hours to get to destinations, depending on how many stops and traffic. It can be cheap, but your time will be wasted.
  • Shuttles – You could get a shuttle, which is something of the past, but you end up dealing with the schedule of 20 other people that are headed to the same destination. Not only is it hard to maintain a high level of customer service here, you’ll end up crammed in a van with a lot of people, which is not something that most people want to utilize.
  • Limousine – Let’s just say you want to go in style, you could end up using this option, but it costs a lot of money. This is not a great option unless you’re dealing with a lot of money and want to go to the airport in luxury.
  • Driving – You can drive yourself, and save a few dollars, but then you’ll have to figure out where to park your vehicle. Overnight parking lots are hard to deal with and find that are inexpensive. If you go with this option you’ll have to pay a lot of money over time.
  • Friends – You can ask friends and hope they take your flight as serious as you do, and get you to your terminal on time. This is hit or miss for many people, as it is hard to instill certain urgency to friends and even some families.

3 Bad Choices For Airport Transportation

When looking to get a ride to and from the airport, a lot of mistakes can be made. This is especially true for modern times, with many people dealing with traffic, security, and so much more. If you’re looking to move forward with any type of airport transportation other than a taxi service, you should look at the below choices, to ensure that you’re getting a cab.

  • Friends – Relying on friends is great, until they over sleep and they are late. Sure there are some good people in our lives, but many end up being late and when that happens, you’re late, and you miss your flight. Don’t rely on friends, especially when it comes to matters that are extremely important to be on time for. Once a plane boards and leaves, there’s nothing you can do.

  • Bus – There are a lot of buses that go to the airport, but the downside to the bus is the time it takes to get from point A to point B. Along the way, a bus ends up stopping many times when moving forward, and can cause a lot of problems in the long term. While it’s cost effective, people will find that the bus can get crowded and take a long time. This too can end up making you late.

  • Driving – You can control your destiny by driving, but you’ll have to contend with traffic and then find long term (or short term) parking. The parking lots around an airport can end up costing an arm and a leg, which is not cost effective for most people. Getting to the airport on time is simple, but then finding the right parking option that won’t charge you too much, is going to be difficult.

The best bet is getting a taxi service to get you to and from to any major metropolitan airport. Usually cabs are faster at serving you and can get you from point A to point B straightway, so that you’re not scrambling to get anywhere with problems. You’ll end up finding that you get to your location on time, you end up paying far less than most other plans, and you get the type of service that you’d expect from a one on one service.
